Little Yo’s Home
A one-day trip to Jiujialin Camping Area in Taichung, great for family stays too. The Rainbow Moms’ Group chose this super fun spot, “Jiujialin Camping Area,” for their Christmas gift exchange party. It offers both camping and one-day activities such as BBQ and wilderness training like tree climbing. We had an amazing time that day and also witnessed our kids bravely pushing their limits and growing.

Jiujialin Camping Area is located in Shigang, Taichung, about 300 meters from the Five Blessings Divine Tree. It's not too high up, just a few turns along the mountain road and you’re there. When we got out of the car, we were greeted by lush woods — taking a deep breath with arms wide open was so refreshing.

Besides being surrounded by mountains, Jiujialin Camping Area offers a luxurious five-star camping environment, with spacious campsites, large wooden sheltered pitches, complete facilities, and even standalone suites without the need for setting up tents. Unfortunately, we booked a one-day tour this time and didn’t get to stay overnight—but we’ll come back to experience it next time.

The bathrooms are equipped with hairdryers, toiletries, baby bathtubs, and have separate wet and dry areas.

The vegetable washing area comes with refrigerators (both fridge and freezer) and hot and cold water dispensers. The environment is also very clean.

The main camp office is also an American-style café, serving rich hand-brewed coffee, milk tea, and other drinks, as well as pancakes and light meals.
Ding ding, everyone’s Christmas gifts were ready, all wrapped so adorably. We couldn’t wait for the highlight of the day.
Outside the American-style café at Jiujialin Camping Area is a wooded open space where the kids can run freely. That day we brought a ball-tossing game—both adults and kids loved it, and I wanted to buy a set for home afterward.
While the kids played, the adults did the BBQ. We reserved a BBQ set from Jiujialin Camping Area. Not only did they provide electric grills, but they also supplied all the ingredients—seafood and meat alike, in abundant portions. We didn’t have to prepare anything at all, which was super convenient. Everyone gathered together to eat and play. A huge thanks to the organizer, Wenling, for the thoughtful planning.
Also, shout-out to Heyu and Huan for grilling diligently for everyone—well deserved praise.
At Jiujialin Camping Area, besides camping and hiking to enjoy nature, the most fun part is the outdoor activity zone featuring “wilderness training and tree climbing.” This time, aside from the BBQ, we also signed our kids up for a “wilderness training experience.” When we saw the setup, Yo’s eyes lit up. He’s tried various wilderness training activities like Wild Monkey Forest Adventure Park and Shanhe Lian Leisure Café—he loves them all and always gets excited at the sight.
Finally, the scheduled time arrived, and the excited little monkeys listened intently to the coach’s instructions.
The lively Heyu joined in actively and became the best little helper for the coach’s demonstrations.
Gear on, ready to go, Up! Go, kids, go.
Working in pairs to help each other, Yo’s teammate was Xuanxuan. At first, Xuanxuan wasn’t quite sure where to attach the rope—which was a bit worrying for this duo.
The first to go turned out to be the Dragonfly sisters. Why did the girls go first when it was mostly boys?
The athletic Qingqing, with her long arms and legs, moved nimbly on the ropes. But because she hadn’t done this before, and the distance between ropes grew longer later on, Qingqing got nervous and even shed a few tears—it was heartbreaking to see.
Even so, the brave little girl overcame the difficulties and made it to the second level. Instead of giving up, she moved forward bravely—how wonderful!
These little boys are just watching like it’s a show. You’ll see once it’s your turn to go up!
Next up is Tingting. Without Qingqing’s long limbs and strong athletic ability, it was harder for her to walk across. Even while shedding tears, she completed the course and went straight to the next level. The fearless sisters are truly admirable!
The silly dad-and-son duo makes their appearance!
The game has a height restriction of 140 cm, but Fatty, who is under the limit, really wanted to play. So his doting dad joined in, and the two of them walked one after the other, just like koalas on a tightrope—so adorable!
Unexpectedly, He Yu and Yan Yan gave up as soon as they stepped onto the stage. It’s really not easy for kids to overcome their mental barriers at such heights. Now it’s Xuan Xuan and Yo’s turn!
Xuan Xuan, who plays baseball, also has great athletic coordination. Watching him walk the rope looked effortless, and he could even smile—it’s amazing!
The first contestant, Qingqing, has already reached the third level!
Finally, it’s Yo’s turn. He originally thought he could do it, but once he got on the stage, he found the height was higher and the ropes were spaced farther apart, which made him hesitant. He almost wanted to give up before even trying!
Life’s challenges are unpredictable. We hope Yo will approach everything with a positive attitude of courage and willingness to take on challenges. You only know your own abilities by trying, rather than giving up without even attempting. So we talked to him: “We believe you can do it ! Just give it a try, and if you really can’t, then come down!”
Finally, we managed to restore his confidence, and he took steps forward!
Watching the kids try, you realize why the game is restricted to those over 140 cm. For shorter children, the ropes are out of reach, and some gaps are too wide to manage—it’s a challenge beyond their abilities, giving them a real shock lesson!
Yet, they were able to push past their fears and strive to achieve their goals. Whether or not they reached the end, they are the biggest winners in their own hearts!
We stayed by Yo’s side the whole time, watching him overcome his fear and face the challenge again. We were deeply moved. Dad did a great job, even capturing the child’s growth using forced perspective.
To ease the tense atmosphere for everyone there!
Kid, we’re so proud of you ! Even though you only made it halfway, it’s a huge improvement—you really did it!

Although in the end only Xuan Xuan completed the entire course, the very brave little warrior earned our unanimous praise. But today’s experience also left a deep impression on the kids, proving their own abilities!
