【Synopsis】
Anna spends her days baking sweet and colorful cupcakes to comfort others, but she’s depressed after her husband walks out on her. While watching the live TV broadcast of the European singing competition “Eurovision’s Voice” with her sister and friends, they spontaneously break into song to cheer her up. Unexpectedly, their adorable neighbor, who loves wearing skirts, secretly submits footage of their heartfelt performance to the contest, leading to their surprise selection as Israel’s national representatives!
A former beauty queen turned lawyer, a political assistant juggling a strict father, a childish yet kid-favorite male teacher, a blog-obsessed female novelist yearning for love to fall from the sky, an unpopular lounge singer, and Anna—the bakery owner whose husband left and whose son doesn’t support her… These six ordinary individuals suddenly become the nation’s hope. Director Eytan Fox was born in 1964 in New York, USA, and moved back to Jerusalem, Israel with his family when he was two. His notable works such as Yossi & Jagger, Walk on Water, and The Bubble not only established his place in the international film scene, but were also released in Taiwanese cinemas, making him one of the most well-known Israeli directors among Taiwanese audiences. He was nominated for the César Award for Best Foreign Film for Walk on Water, and The Bubble was selected for the Berlin Film Festival and won multiple awards including Best Screenplay at the Durban International Film Festival.
