Organized by the Changhua County Farmers' Association Dongshi Forest Farm, the annual firefly-watching event attracts numerous participants and is perfect for family leisure and fun. The firefly ecotourism event now has only its final two sessions on May 12 (Monday) and May 15 (Thursday). The package fee covers one night’s accommodation, two meals, admission tickets, a handicraft DIY session, and a firefly T-shirt. Each session is limited to 40 people and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If fewer than 20 people sign up for a session, it will be changed to a free itinerary, with the second-day plant ecology guided tour being canceled while the first-day schedule remains unchanged.

Many recent firefly-watching activities involve nighttime travel on mountain roads, leading to several accidents. Aside from following firefly-viewing guidelines, participants should also pay attention to traffic safety and remain cautious while moving through mountainous areas to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience.

The peak season for black-winged fireflies has passed, with the total number of fireflies in the park now at around several thousand. Regular guided firefly-watching tours are held at 7 PM and 8 PM on weekdays—you can simply head to the Dongshi Forest Farm Visitor Service Center to join. Visiting Dongshi Forest Farm at this time also offers the chance to admire falling phoenix tree petals, creating a romantic scene with blossoms covering the ground.
