Yongshan Zoo Celebrates Mother's Day with "Mama Bear & Crane, Yong SWEET"

For a heartwarming Mother’s Day, Yongshan Zoo is launching the “Bear Loves Mama, Give Her a Kiss” free admission event on May 10. On the day of the event, if your little one gives Mama a kiss on the cheek and says “I love you,” you can both enjoy free admission; Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau Director Xu Chuansheng will lead as the kids’ king and bring together 50 parent-child groups to make honey toast “Bear So Sweet” treats for the moms, as well as a hundred-person foot-washing “Mama Bear Relaxed” filial piety activity. In addition, a mother and cub pair of Formosan black bears will also make an appearance, enjoying the large-scale ZOO “Bear So Sweet” treats.

Tourism Bureau Director Xu Chuansheng stated that to thank Moms for their hard work, a “Mama Bear & Crane, Yong SWEET” filial piety event is specially held over the Mother’s Day weekend. Special thanks go to Jingyuan Farm for gifting Chilean flamingos, adding new animal friends to Yongshan Zoo. A total of 50 parent-child groups have been invited to make “Bear So Sweet” treats using ingredients such as toast strips, fruits, and custard cream. Additionally, a specially made large-scale ZOO “Bear So Sweet” treat, measuring 110 cm in length and 40 cm in width, exclusive for Formosan black bears, will be presented at the event, allowing black bear mama and cub Bobby to enjoy Mother’s Day together while promoting wildlife conservation knowledge about Formosan black bears to the public.

This Saturday’s Mother’s Day event also incorporates parent-child educational fun, with nearly a hundred people joining the “Mama Bear Relaxed” filial piety foot-washing activity. A professional wellness master has been specially invited to guide children on how to give Mom a medicinal foot bath “Bear Relaxed.” Thirty spots are available for online registration, 20 for on-site registration, and Yongshan Zoo’s Facebook fan page is also hosting a warm Mother’s Day event. Simply upload a photo of your child giving Mama a kiss on the fan page to join the “Kiss Mama, Win a Prize” activity.
