The oval-shaped shoreline of Jioming Lake has led some to call it the "Egg Pond," butits azure lake water, like a gem fallen from the heavens, has earned it the romantic name "Angel’s Tear."
Despite having no inflowing streams, the clear waters of Jioming Lake never dry up year-round, and when paired with the breathtaking surrounding mountain scenery, it has become a highly sought-after hiking spot in recent years.

The hiking trail to Jioming Lake features a rich and varied alpine ecosystem. Especially from May to June, when Yushan azaleas are in full bloom, hikers flock to the area. With the completion of the Xiangyang Forest Recreation Area and the Jioming Lake Shelter, the hiking facilities around Jioming Lake have been further improved. Hikers can enter via the Daguanshan Tunnel entrance, reach the South Cross-Island Highway mid-section pass, then proceed to the Xiangyang Recreation Area and Xiangyang Mountain Hut. Along the way, they can enjoy views of the Xiangyang and Guan Mountain cliffs. Upon reaching the Xiangyang Mountain entrance, hikers can access Jioming Lake and Sancha Mountain, where the breathtaking scenery provides a perfect finale to their adventure.
