Another Japanese dining chain has arrived in Taiwan. YAYOI (やよい轩), known for its Japanese-style set meals in Japan, already operates 257 outlets across the country. Since 2006, it has expanded overseas, with 120 outlets in Thailand alone. It entered Singapore in 2011 and now has five outlets there, and opened its first Australian outlet in June 2014. In January 2014, it established a branch in Taiwan and officially launched its first store in Taipei on July 25.

The store is located near Songjiang Nanjing Station, a hub for Japanese businesses and frequent business travel between Japan and Taiwan, offering convenient transportation. YAYOI emphasizes traditional Japanese cuisine centered around rice, serving set meals with a focus on quality ingredients and rice. The rice used at YAYOI is the company’s own premium “Kinpaku Rice,” imported from Japan. Its diverse menu reflects careful ingredient selection, aiming to share the spirit of Japanese home-style cuisine with Taiwanese diners.
