Autumn is the best season for travel. Taipei City Government’s Public Works Department, Bureau of Urban Development, has released a new book, "Playing in Taipei’s Mountains and Forests," which selects 30 uniquely scenic forest locations and offers the public light travel itineraries for half-day or one-day trips.

With the growing awareness of environmental values, the management of sloped lands has gradually evolved from disaster emergency repairs and rehabilitation to natural conservation and leisure recreation. While prioritizing slope safety, the Bureau of Urban Development employs near-natural ecological engineering methods to preserve wildlife habitats and create eco-friendly natural environments. This has led to increasingly renewed landscapes in sloped terrains year after year, enriching the charm of Taipei’s mountain forests and providing the public with an optimal choice to connect with nature.
