The renowned luxury brand GUCCI has made a cross-industry debut in Shanghai with the world’s first branded restaurant, “1921 GUCCI,” which officially commenced operations on the 22nd. The opening caused a huge sensation, attracting numerous guests and resulting in long queues.

1921 GUCCI is located in Shanghai’s IAPM Mall and took two years to build. Customers can only access the restaurant by taking the dedicated elevator from the GUCCI store within the mall. Although GUCCI had previously opened coffee shops in Italy, Japan, and South Korea, 1921 GUCCI is the brand’s first restaurant-format outlet.

The restaurant space continues GUCCI’s signature understated luxury style, featuring solid wood décor paired with dark gold tables and velvet chairs. The tableware has been carefully selected, using the Japanese-style GUCCI Ginza collection. In terms of cuisine, the restaurant mainly offers Italian dishes, and in keeping with the café concept, it also serves desserts, coffee, and afternoon tea. Lunch and dinner prices are approximately NT$750 and NT$1,500 per person, respectively.
