Hot young hunks in high demand: Tainan’s popular milk tea sells out in five minutes

Not just in Taipei, where “hunk tofu pudding” is a hit—now Tainan has its own version: “hunk milk tea.” The shop fills milk tea into plastic bottles molded with muscular male physiques. The bronze-toned figures even appear to drip sweat under the bright sun, looking quite sexy. When sales start at noon, crowds of fans snap up the hunk milk tea in just five minutes, making it the most sought-after drink in Tainan lately.

This hunk milk tea, launched by Tainan’s “Zhang Sanfeng Ice-Fire Pineapple Buns,” was inspired by Japan’s “muscle drinks.” The shop removed the original clothing from the muscle drink design, going for a nude version instead, and matched the brown hue of the milk tea to make it look like a group of shirtless hunks. It’s very attention-grabbing. The hunk milk tea uses Hong Kong-style milk tea as its base, blended with six different types of tea in specific proportions. Then, the dark brown milk tea is poured into the bottle with full muscle lines. The taste is smooth, and it’s sold in limited quantities of 80 bottles every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Additionally, the shop has also introduced juice in blood-bag packaging inspired by the concept of a “blood tonic station.” Flavors include grape, guava, and mango. They’re limited to 60 packs per day and are also a popular item in the store.
