The Quantum of the Seas, operated by Royal Caribbean International, measures 384 meters in length, 16 decks in height, and has a displacement of 168,000 tons, accommodating up to 4,180 passengers. Departing from Shanghai, the ship arrived in Taichung on September 2, entered Keelung Port on September 3, and departed from Taiwan that same evening. Not only is the Quantum of the Seas the largest cruise ship currently navigating Asia, but it is also the third largest in the world. Many cruise enthusiasts and photography aficionados are eagerly awaiting the arrival of this maritime giant.

The Quantum of the Seas boasts luxurious and diverse amenities, with the spotlight on the 90-meter-long cantilevered observation deck “North Star.” This attraction lifts guests out over the edge of the ship, offering an exhilarating experience high above the sea. Open 24 hours, it accommodates 15 passengers per trip for approximately 15 minutes. From its fully glass-enclosed cabin with 360-degree views, you can admire stars, sunrises, and sunsets—or, if lucky, swim alongside dolphins and seagulls.

Even skydiving is possible on this 18-deck vessel, thanks to the world’s first “indoor skydiving” simulator, RipCord by iFly. Guests can soar in a transparent cylinder, experiencing the thrill of flying high above the blue sea and sky.

In addition to coveted ocean-view cabins, even the interior rooms without windows offer an 80-inch LED virtual balcony, allowing all passengers to enjoy live sea views anytime. The ship also houses the largest indoor sports complex at sea, featuring a basketball court, surf simulator, bumper cars, and an ice-skating rink.
