Japan’s newly launched sightseeing trains always leave a deep impression. Starting October 10, Toyama Prefecture’s Himi Line has unveiled a brand-new luxury sightseeing train, Belles montagnes et mer (べるもんた), featuring exquisite craftsmanship, along with breathtaking scenery, gourmet cuisine, and fine wines—all designed to offer passengers a feast for all five senses.

A fusion of gourmet food and stunning sceneryBelles montagnes et merFrom10officially began service, expected to run until2016, year2, month28. The route passes through Shin-Takaoka, Himi, and Shokawa, with two round trips daily, taking about45minutes per journey. Onboard, passengers can enjoy rice wine brewed using natural water from the Alps, while select services also feature sushi master Sushi Naoto’s nigiri sets made with fresh seafood from Toyama Bay—ensuring that the beautiful views out the window are matched by an unforgettable culinary experience.
