Tainan City Councilor Tang Bi-e recently raised an inquiry regarding the city’s transportation policy, suggesting that if the Kaohsiung MRT could be extended to Tainan, it would further promote interactive development between Tainan and Kaohsiung. She recommended that Tainan Mayor William Lai work vigorously to make this happen.

In response, William Lai also stated that the Kaohsiung MRT currently only extends as far as Gangshan Station. If it could be further extended northward to Tainan, it would yield even greater benefits. He has already reached a consensus with Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu, and they plan to seek central government support to extend the Kaohsiung MRT to Tainan.
