World Yamachan is an izakaya chain brand that originated in Nagoya, Japan in 1981, and besides being popular in Japan, it has as many as 76 branches in regions including Hong Kong and Thailand. Now Taiwan will become its third overseas location, with plans to open its first Taiwanese store in November 2015 in Taipei’s Xinyi District.

The first Taiwan store is expected to have 152 seats, making it one of the larger outlets among World Yamachan branches. In addition to standard Japanese izakaya dishes, the most well-known item at the shop is the signature “Dream Fried Chicken Wings” (幻の手羽先), available in original flavor and black chicken wing flavors. The black chicken wings are marinated before frying, giving them a richer taste and making them a very popular drinking snack. In addition, the shop also serves fried foods, sashimi, salads, hot pot, skewers... as well as Japanese beer, sours, and shochu.
