As the 228 Long Weekend approaches, the Tainan City Tourism Bureau has put together the “228 Long Weekend Tainan Travel Guide,” inviting everyone to visit Tainan to enjoy art and culture, stroll through old streets, and savor the authentic flavors of local life.
●2016Moon Lake Harbor Lantern Festival
The highly popular Moon Lake Harbor Lantern Festival runs from January 31 to February 28. This year’s creative theme, “Lunar Treasure Box, Shining Jin,” showcases the charm of Yanshui through illuminated art installations that sparkle like treasure boxes. The lantern displays, integrating riverside settings, village landscapes, and local Yanshui cultural features, are truly spectacular.

● Swing, Animals – Art & Design Exhibition
This brand-new special exhibition “Swing, Animals – Art & Design Exhibition” (running until August 31), featuring works by 23 artists and designers from seven countries, takes animals as its central theme. It highlights the two most captivating elements in nature and creativity—“diversity” and “creativity.”

In addition, tickets for the permanent exhibitions at the Chimei Museum are now available for purchase at ibon kiosks. Combined museum and special exhibition “combo tickets” are also offered, limited to 1,600 sets per day. Visitors can conveniently purchase their entry tickets directly at ibon kiosks. Nearby, you can also explore other unique attractions such as the Tainan Shi Gu Drum Ren Tang Cultural and Creative Park for drumming fun, the Furniture Museum for hands-on wooden crafting experiences, or the Hydrogel Sightseeing Factory.

● Wild Animal Kingdom -Monkey Year Limited-Time Package
Wild Animal Kingdom’s “Monkeys, Come See the Capybaras!” promotion allows visitors who take a photo with a Wild Animal Kingdom mascot doll—or any identifiable Wild Animal Kingdom merchandise, DM, or promotional materials—while traveling anywhere in the world, and upload it to the park’s official Facebook page, to have a chance to win free admission or an interactive experience with capybaras, elephants, giraffes, and more.

● Jian Shan Pi Jiangnan Resort -Monkey Year Limited-Time Package
Jian Shan Pi Jiangnan Resort is offering a promotion where those born in the Year of the Monkey (Republic of China years 33, 45, 57, 69, 81, and 93) can enjoy free admission with valid ID (not applicable for groups). Additionally, visitors who use the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle “Guanziling-Wushantou Line” ticket package to arrive at Jiangnan Resort before June 30 can present their ticket stub to receive a NT$100 discount on admission (original price NT$150), complimentary service charge on meals, and 60% off for weekday stays and 80% off for weekend stays.
