The Yaezakura (double-flowered cherry blossoms) at Aowanda’s Shayin (Second) Parking Lot in Nantou have burst into full bloom, with masses of flowers resembling a vast pink screen. Japan’s cherry blossom season gradually arrives in mid-March, but if you don’t plan to go abroad for cherry blossoms, Taiwan actually has many scenic spots that rival those overseas. The Aowanda area in Nantou is home to thousands of cherry blossom trees. These include pink mountain cherry blossoms, which kick off the season from late January to early February, followed by vibrant red Yaezakura in February, and finally the pure white Wushe cherry blossoms that make their grand appearance as the season draws to a close. Throughout the entire spring, Aowanda offers beautiful cherry blossom views.
