Low-cost carriers are a new type of travel option that has emerged in recent years. Their official full name is Low Cost Carrier, also known as LCC for short. Tigerair Taiwan is a joint venture between China Airlines and Singapore-based Scoot. It covers destinations across Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Macau, Japan, China, and 17 other routes, making it currently the largest national low-cost airline.

Established in 2011 by parent company Singapore Airlines, it specializes in medium- to long-haul routes and uses the “Dreamliner” Boeing 787 to provide a more comfortable flying experience than other budget airlines. Currently, it operates 6 routes from Taiwan to destinations including Singapore, Japan, and South Korea.

Vanilla Air is a wholly owned subsidiary of All Nippon Airways of Japan. It operates routes such as Taipei–Tokyo, Taipei–Osaka, and Kaohsiung–Tokyo, as well as domestic flights within Japan, allowing connections from Tokyo to other cities in Japan.
