Taipei’s First Treehouse Pavilion – Observation Deck Offers Stunning Views of the Old Tree Trail

The Taipei City Government has built Taipei’s first treehouse pavilion, “Tree Pavilion,” on the Little Stream Head Circular Trail in Shilin District. Winding up around ancient trees to reach the forest canopy, visitors can enjoy an up-close forest-viewing experience at eye level, immerse themselves in nature, and breathe in fresh air.

In addition to the newly completed observation platform “Tree Pavilion,” the Little Stream Head Circular Trail also features other scenic spots such as the Riding the Wind Fortress Observation Deck, the Wind Rush Forest Observation Deck, and the Huapeng Observation Pavilion. These offer sweeping views of Taipei’s urban skyline filled with diverse architecture. The trail also boasts rich natural biodiversity, where you might spot Formosan squirrels and Taiwan blue magpies.

The Little Stream Head Circular Trail is a triangular loop formed by the “Datou Forest Wooden Boardwalk,” the “Datou Nature Trail,” and the “Bixi Trail.” It spans approximately 3 kilometers in total. To get there, take Bus No. 1 from either Taipei Metro Jiantan Station or Shilin Station to “Xishan Nursery Station,” then walk about 10 minutes to reach the trail entrance.
