The weather will remain unstable over the next week. According to the Central Weather Bureau, Taiwan is still within a large low-pressure system. From the 13th to the 18th, in addition to keeping an eye out for localized brief afternoon thunderstorms, some short-lived showers or thunderstorms may also occur at other times in central and southern Taiwan as well as the eastern half of the island.

In terms of temperature, due to possible sunshine during breaks in rainfall, high temperatures in various regions could still reach above 33°C. Northern Taiwan still has a chance of seeing highs exceeding 35°C, making it feel muggy when it’s not raining.

Additionally, a low-pressure system located to the northwest of Guam intensified into a tropical depression on the evening of the 11th. It is currently about 1,900 kilometers from Taiwan and shows potential to develop into a mild typhoon. Whether it will affect Taiwan is still under observation. Typhoon Conson (No. 6) is moving toward the sea east of Japan and is quite far from Taiwan, so it will not impact Taiwan’s weather. However, travelers planning to visit Japan should stay alert.
