The 2016 Qingjing Windmill Festival began on July 2nd and will continue for two months. This year’s event, themed “Winds of Qingjing, Dance of Hometown,” uses colorful windmills to depict the legends of Taiwan’s indigenous tribes. In addition to the colorful windmill displays at Qingjing Little Switzerland Garden — a key attraction for visitors annually — a variety of exciting activities and performances will also take place.

Qingjing Little Switzerland Garden has prepared 15,000 macaron-colored windmills for this year’s park decoration. Carefully selected floral-shaped windmills have been combined with macaron hues to create an exclusively designed windmill display that blends with the garden’s goldfish flowers and angel flowers to form a vibrant floral world. Highlights include a “Welcome Avenue” composed of over 2,000 windmills to greet visitors, a 50-meter-long “Spinning Macaron Lakeside Pathway” made up of more than 5,000 windmills, and a yellow windmill flower sea consisting of 1,314 yellow windmills set against a European-style gazebo background to create a romantic scene. Other features include a crescent-shaped “Windmill Wooden Bridge” and various macaron-colored windmill flower zones.

Qingjing Little Switzerland Garden has exclusively launched the “Macaron Windmill Maze,” a dreamy maze made up of over 6,000 macaron-colored windmills, offering visitors a brand-new experience. As guests navigate through the windmill obstacles, they can also enjoy the fun of the maze. Inside the maze, there are exclusive figures including Spain’s only matador-inspired OPEN, a Dutch-costumed Xiao Tao, and a German gentleman-inspired LOCK, giving visitors delightful surprises while exploring the windmill maze.
In the Qingjing Shopping Area, 2,016 colorful spinning windmills connect the Yulan Cypress area with the shopping plaza. Six additional windmill-themed structures have been added in the parking lot, their reflections shimmering among the Qilai Mountain ranges, creating a beautiful sight — even parking becomes a visual treat. Other highlights include a limited laser water dance show, internet slang displays, butterfly-shaped chairs, colorful carp flags, and the Love Boat decoration.
