With a four-day holiday for the Mid-Autumn Festival, Taiwan High Speed Rail has released an additional 118 train services between September 14 (Wednesday) and 19 (Monday) to meet the needs of travelers heading home or traveling—62 southbound and 56 northbound. A total of 922 services will be available over the six days. The "College Student Discount" and "Early Bird Discount" will also remain in effect during this period. Those planning to take the high-speed rail can start purchasing round-trip tickets for the Mid-Autumn transport period as early as midnight on August 18 (Thursday).

Taiwan High Speed Rail advises that passenger traffic will be heavy during the Mid-Autumn holiday. Passengers are encouraged to book seats in advance and make use of the over 10,000 convenience stores, online booking systems, and the T Express mobile app affiliated with the railway. Completing payment and ticket collection via these off-site channels in advance will save you valuable time waiting in line at stations and allow you to board your train smoothly.
For the Mid-Autumn holiday, Taiwan High Speed Rail has designated 435 services with the "Early Bird Discount," accounting for more than 47% of all services during the peak travel period. Additionally, to encourage travelers to plan ahead and avoid rush hour when returning to their residences after the holiday, 8 designated standard-class reserved-seat services on September 13 (Tuesday), the day before the peak period, and September 19 (Monday), the last day of the peak period, will offer an early bird discount of up to 65% (service numbers listed below). Passengers who book tickets 5 to 28 days before their travel date may be eligible for early bird discounts of 65%, 80%, or 90%.
During the Mid-Autumn transport period, all Taiwan High Speed Rail services will continue to offer 3 to 5 cars of non-reserved seating. Passengers with periodic tickets, return tickets, or EasyCard co-branded cards (with auto-load enabled) can tap in directly to access non-reserved seating. The following programs will apply during the transport period: "College Student Discount," "Standard Car Class Cardholder Discount," "Business Car Class Limited Upgrade," and "Monday EasyCard Day." However, programs such as "Off-Peak Weekday Discount," "Groups of 25 or More," and "School Excursions" will not be available during this period.
