Little Housewife

With reversible canned equipment gaining popularity, the Taichung City Government has successively built several unique parks with terrazzo slides, such as Fengle Sculpture Park, Fuxing Park, and Xinping Park, each with its own distinctive features."Wenxin Forest Park" features 12 sensory play facilities designed based on sensory stimulation, physical activity, and cognitive development. These include rare wooden bead slides and telescopic wooden stumps. Bring your kids to play now!

The children’s play area in "Wenxin Forest Park" is located right across from IKEA. After visiting the park, you can continue shopping at IKEA or grab an ice cream. There’s a motorcycle parking lot in front of the park, with a single-use fee of NT$20.

The signage at "Wenxin Forest Park" is quite clear, making the purpose of each facility easy to understand at a glance.

"Telescopic Wooden Stumps" let kids unleash their creativity. They can freely pull out or push back the stumps, transforming them into chairs, tables, or even, as one child proudly shouted about his tank creation. Viewed differently, they can also resemble a digger or a boat.

"Color-Reversing Blocks" have different colors and English letters painted on the wood, which can be rearranged into different words when flipped.

"Disc Swings" are similar to "Nest Swings," both capable of accommodating around 20–3 children at a time. Fengle Sculpture Park also has the same equipment, and it's very popular.

The spacing of the "High-Low Wooden Stumps" is slightly wide for toddlers, requiring parental assistance to manage.

"Shaking Cups" are similar to rocking horses, but with greater shaking amplitude. They’re fun to sit or lie on and test the child’s sense of balance.

"Standing Oscillation Equipment" is an advanced version of the balance beam, supported by springs that make the beam wobble while walking on it—scary stuff. A dad, clearly overprotective, immediately rushed forward to support his beloved little one.

To use the slide, you need to have some serious skills. The stone staircase, built from stacked rocks, has stones of varying sizes on every side. Climbing it feels like a fresh challenge every time.

Sliders have seen plastic, metal, roller, and terrazzo materials, but this is the first time trying a wooden bead slide. The first impression is somewhat like a fitness trail—you need to use your full body strength to slide down. Although the wooden bead slide is unique, it lacks speed sensation and is surprisingly unpopular.

Turn around, and there's a cardboard collection box nearby. Do you need cardboard to make the wooden bead slide more slippery?

Like other Taichung-themed parks, once you slide down, you land in a sandbox. It serves a safety function and is also a crowd favorite.

A washing station is set up nearby, complete with drainage design.

After reading "Little Chicken Goes to the Amusement Park," Baobao became curious about mazes, eagerly waiting at the exit for her hot air balloon. "Wenxin Forest Park’s" maze also includes bamboo tubes and wooden beads, stimulating touch and hearing while navigating through challenges.

Sound-collecting speakers—see where the sound travels to.

What secrets are hidden in the culvert tunnel? Baobao said, “Mom, is this a car wash?” I couldn’t help but laugh—it really does look a bit like one. Similar designs at the Fengyuan Parent-Child Center actually are a car wash.

I really appreciate the extensive use of wooden play equipment. With nature as the main theme, it echoes the name "Forest" Park. Though the 12-sensory playground isn’t very large, it hides plenty of clever design touches that stimulate the senses, physical abilities, and intellect. In addition to the new 12-sensory play facilities, the large lawn at "Wenxin Forest Park" is also perfect for picnics.
