The original “King Cherry Blossom” at Tienyuan Temple was removed due to disease in 2016. Thanks to efforts by the city government and the temple, a new Yoshino cherry tree has been planted in its place, and this second-generation “King Cherry Blossom” has become a highlight of the annual hanami experience.
