Lover’s Cave is hailed as the most beautiful sight in Lanyu. Formed by the long-term battering and erosion of ocean waves, it is a sea arch (sea cave) surrounded by rugged terrain and rough seas. The cave’s rocks enclose a pool of seawater, and when the sea is calm, the water beneath the cave is crystal clear and the view is expansive. Easily spotted along Lanyu’s coastal road, it is not only a popular photography spot but also a favorite destination for couples, hence its name “Lover’s Cave.”

Beyond Lover’s Cave, Lanyu itself is a small island surrounded by sea, giving off a sense of isolation from the rest of the world. In addition to its azure waters, the island boasts the fascinating culture of the Tao people. Though small, it is rich in natural landscapes and historical heritage, making it well worth multiple visits.
