As Qingming Festival approaches, it is estimated that cemeteries across Taiwan will see large crowds and heavy traffic. To ensure smooth traffic around cemetery areas, the government will implement traffic controls at scenic spots and congested sections of national highways based on past traffic data. It is recommended that citizens try to avoid congested roads and areas, and make use of real-time traffic information released by police radio stations and variable message signs to stay updated on road conditions and save precious time.

The National Freeway Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has implemented measures for the Qingming holiday long weekend on National Freeway1No. 3, from Nangang (Neihu) to Toufen in the southbound direction(affecting interchanges in New Taipei’s Sanchong, Wugu, and Taoyuan65, as well as Linkou), National Freeway3No. 5, from Muzha to Xiangshan in the southbound direction(affecting interchanges in New Taipei’s Xindian, Ankeng, Zhonghe, Tucheng, Sanxia, and Yingge)will enforce high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) controls; on National Freeway5No. 3, during the first two days of the holiday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the last two days from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, HOV controls will also be applied at southbound entrances (Nangang System, Shiding, Pinglin) and northbound entrances (Su’ao, Luodong, Yilan, Toucheng).7from 14:00 to noon12from 15:00, and in the afternoons of the following two consecutive holidays3from 16:00 to the evening8at 17:00, as well as on the southbound(Nangang System, Shiding, and Pinglin entrances) and northbound (Su'ao, Luodong, Yilan, and Toucheng entrances) entrances, high-occupancy vehicle restrictions will also be implemented.
