Taiwan High Speed Rail has scheduled additional services for the three-day 2017 Labor Day holiday from April 28 (Friday) to May 2 (Tuesday), adding 52 extra train trips (20 southbound and 32 northbound), offering a total of 765 train services over the five days. Starting from midnight on April 1 (Saturday), passengers may purchase tickets for the Labor Day holiday in advance through convenience stores partnered with the high-speed rail, online booking systems, the T Express mobile ticketing app, the voice reservation system, or at ticket counters and ticket vending machines at all stations during business hours.

Based on projected passenger demand during the Labor Day holiday, Taiwan High Speed Rail has designated 3 to 5 cars per train as non-reserved seating. In consideration of crowded conditions during the transport period, passengers departing from Taipei Station are advised to arrive early. Elderly passengers or those requiring assistance are encouraged to call the high-speed rail customer service center in advance to apply for the “boarding guidance service” (for details, please refer to the official THSR corporate website). THSR will assign staff to provide dedicated assistance. Additionally, travelers commuting to or from areas such as Neihu, Nangang, Songshan, Xinyi, Xizhi, Keelung, and Yilan are advised to use Nangang Station for boarding and alighting when possible, to save valuable time.
A total of 398 train trips during the Labor Day holiday are eligible for the “early bird discount,” accounting for approximately 52% of all trips during the transport period. Passengers who book their tickets 5 to 28 days before the travel date may be eligible for early bird discounts of 65%, 80%, or 90%. In addition, some train trips also qualify for the “college student discount.”
During the transport period, the “Standard Car Class Cardholder Discount” and “Business Car Class Limited Upgrade” promotions will apply; however, the “Off-Peak Weekday Discount,” “Group Discounts for 25 or More People,” and “School Excursion” programs are not available during this period.
