A must-visit photo spot for relaxation – a hidden urban stress-relief haven

The hectic pace of city life often leaves people feeling overwhelmed. Recently, an idle plot of land near Taipei’s Guting Station has been transformed into a secret recreational base for locals, turning a small area into a well-equipped leisure space that has become a new hotspot for visitors to unwind, de-stress, and take photos. ParkUp Guting, located in a lane off Heping East Road, is the first space renovation project by the ParkUp brand. It was adopted by the Plan b team, who took over a 100-square-meter idle plot managed by the National Property Administration. The overall space is divided into three zones, which can be used independently or connected based on different purposes.

The front courtyard plaza of ParkUp Guting offers pleasant green shade, providing ample activity space for children; the rear open space is enclosed by two high walls and a climbing vine fence, creating a semi-private area suitable for various types of outdoor activities such as workshops, lectures, and open-air movie screenings. The middle section features nine white horizontal bars, with widths and spacing designed to allow wheelchairs to move through freely. Beyond fitness use, the bars can also support simple leisure installations like swings and hammocks, or serve as supports for drying bedding on sunny days. Additionally, during various events and performances, appropriate hardware accessories can be used as display racks, canopy supports, or storefronts for booths.
