How to get to the Keelung Eagles Carnival? Here's a handy traffic control guide

The annual Keelung "Eagles Carnival" is set to take place on June 25. Now in its 6th edition, this year’s celebration has been expanded to mark the 130th anniversary of Keelung Port. The event will feature a massive birthday cake float, giant mascots, and samba dancer parades, among other activities.

To alleviate the influx of visitors, traffic controls will be enforced on the day of the event. Control points will be set up at intersections such as Ren-2 Road / Ai-5 Road and Xin-1 Road / Mei-Hou Bridge; vehicles will be prohibited from entering. Surrounding public transport and parking facilities will also be regulated. Visitors planning to attend should take note.

Eagles Carnival Traffic Control Information

Control period: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, June 25.

Control area and parade route: See detailed control area and parade route map

Parade route: In front of Keelung Old Railway Station (starting point) → Zhong-1 Road → Xiao-2 Road → Zhong-2 Road → Ren-3 Road → Ai-3 Road → Ren-1 Road → Yi-2 Road → Xin-3 Road → East Shore Pier No. 3 (ending point)

Control method: All vehicle types prohibited from entering or exiting.

Control point locations:
East: Ren-2 Road / Ai-5 Road intersection; Xin-1 Road / Mei-Hou Bridge.
South: Ai-3 Road / Ren-5 Road intersection; Nanrong Road / Nanxin Street intersection.
West: Zhongshan-1 Road / Minzhi level crossing.
North: Zhongzheng Road / Yi-1 Road intersection.

Special controlled sections
Zhongzheng Elevated Bridge: Two-way vehicle flow not controlled
Zhongzheng Road toward Ai-1 Road and Zhong-1 Road (surface lanes) under control
Nanrong Road toward downtown direction under control, vehicles prohibited from entering

City buses:
1. Vehicles from Zhongzheng District: Turn back at Zhongzheng Road / Yi-1 Road intersection.
2. Vehicles from Xinyi District: Turn back at Xin-1 Road / Mei-Hou Bridge intersection; Xin-1 Road / Yi-4 Road intersection.
3. Vehicles from Zhongshan District and Anle District: Turn back at Zhong-4 Road station.
4. Vehicles from Qidu District and Nuannuan District: Turn back at Nanrong Road / Qushui Street intersection (near Sankeng Railway Station).

Intercity buses:
1. Routes operated by Kuo-Kuang, Fu-Ho, INHAIR, and Capital:
National Freeway 1 – Badu Interchange – Mackin Road – Anle Road Sections 1 & 2 – Zhongshan-1 Road – Zhongshan-2 Road Lane 36 – Joint Logistics Northern Transport Brigade Port & Beach Squadron – Railway Station – Zhongshan Bridge – Park Street – Zhong-4 Road – National Freeway 1.
2. Keelung Bus routes on national freeways:
(1) National Highway 1 – East Coast Viaduct – Zhongzheng Road (Cultural Center) – Zhongzheng Road (Port Authority) – East Coast Viaduct – National Freeway No. 1 (return to original route).

Parking Control:
1. Controlled parking lots: East Coast Parking Lot, Xin Er Parking Lot.
2. Control time: 15:00–18:00.
