Taiwan’s major rock music mass performance event will be held this Sunday, May 28th, at the Liberty Square of Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. The live event will be led by performances from Chairman Band, Quarterback Band, a child with a rare disease named Lin Yi, Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra’s Public Orchestra, conductor Lin Tian-Ji, as well as a “Rock Star Team” formed by mid-career independent musicians from across Taiwan. This event aims to rally the public to participate in the 2017 Taipei Universiade through music, using both music and sports—languages shared by the world—to convey the spirit of the Taipei Universiade to the globe.

The event begins at 15:30 with a dazzling performance by I-WANT Star Power, the creators of the Taipei Universiade theme song, featuring adorable ambassadors such as Bear Chang, UU酱, and BeBe. The host is Huang Zi Jiao, and Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je will also be present. A group of mid-career rock musicians forming the “Rock Star Team” will lead the crowd in performing “As High as the Sky.” This will be followed by speeches and performances from Chairman Band, Quarterback Band, and Lin Yi. Mickey, the son of Quarterback Band’s member, also gives a cute and impressive solo drum performance at a young age.
