Pingtung County Government Launches LINE Service: 360-Degree Attraction Views & One-on-One Consultation

Pingtung’s tourism industry surpassed 10 million visitors in 2015. To expand tourism services, the Pingtung County Government partnered with LINE to create Taiwan’s first tourism consultation platform “Explore Pingtung.” It offers 360-degree panoramic views, attraction bookings, and one-on-one tourism consultations.

The service utilizes the county government’s official LINE account to enhance tourism functions, featuring four key aspects: “Instant Photo Sharing,” “Location Information Sharing,” “Convenient Consultation for Out-of-Town Visitors,” and “Text Consultation for the Hearing-Impaired.” Users simply add the Pingtung County Government’s official LINE account, where options such as “Love Pingtung Tourism Website,” “360-Degree Panoramic Views,” “Attraction Bookings,” and “Travel Discounts” appear for easy access.

The “360-Degree Panoramic Views” initially includes attractions like Xiaoliuqiu’s Flower Vase Rock, Kenting’s South Bay, Longpan Grassland, Manzhou’s Jiupeng Desert, Jialeshuei, and Mudan’s Xuhai Grassland, allowing users to preview scenic spots via mobile panoramas. The “Travel Discounts” section currently offers discounts from nearly 20 accommodation and transportation providers.

For “Attraction Bookings,” popular local tours such as the Shan Chuan Glass Bridge reservation system, Shuhai Guanyinbi Nature Reserve (Alishi Ancient Trail), Dragon Realm and Nanshan Ecological Reserve, and Linali Tribe are available, along with eco-tours in She Ding, Shuiwa Cave, A Li, Dongyuan, and Li De communities. Visitors can check and book in advance for a deeper travel experience.

Unlike previous official accounts, this service introduces online consultation. By selecting the “Explore Pingtung” consultation option, users enter a one-on-one chat room, making interactions more diverse and convenient.

For example, Pingtung’s trending new attraction, the “Shan Chuan Glass Bridge,” is highly inquired about, especially regarding transportation routes. The “Explore Pingtung” consultation service provides instant route guidance and bridge information. Visitors to unfamiliar spots in Pingtung can also take photos, upload location images, and send their position for relevant information from service staff.
