Farmers in the Zhuzihhu area have diversified into the flower industry. In addition to calla lilies, the region’s cool, humid climate and slightly acidic soil are particularly well-suited for growing hydrangeas. The government also subsidizes farmers to cultivate hydrangea seedlings, and the number of local hydrangea growers has been steadily increasing to ensure stable production and promote diverse leisure development in the Zhuzihhu area.
Colorful and vibrant hydrangeas.
Around 7 to 8 varieties of hydrangeas are grown in Zhuzihhu, offering a diverse color palette including pure white, pink with red edges, pink, mauve, light blue, and blue. The gardens also feature both large-flowered and medium-flowered varieties, with richly saturated hues and layered tones that create a stunning, ever-changing spectacle—perfect for photos. Many visitors also plan to enjoy afternoon tea and seasonal dishes at the farm restaurants, cafes, or dining spots on the mountain, making it an ideal choice for a short trip just outside the city.
The hydrangea fields are incredibly beautiful and a popular spot for photos and social media.
From late May to early July, six hydrangea farms in Zhuzihhu and Dingshan offer visitors flower-viewing and photography opportunities, including Cai Fu Calla Lily Farm, Hua Gu Calla Lily Garden, Ming Yang Pu Leisure Farm, Da Shang Yuan, Da Ti Tian Flower Eco-Farm, and Gao Jia Hydrangea Garden. Visitors are advised to contact the farms in advance or make dining reservations.
Blue-purple hydrangeas are especially favored by flower-viewing tourists.
