Taiwan's tourism is beloved by Japanese visitors, and the latest issue of Japan's reputable magazine 《BRUTUS》, published under "Magazine House," features Tainan’s “Guohua Street” on its cover. Following cities like London, New York, and Tokyo, Taiwan has been selected as the fourth installment in the series, showcasing its considerable appeal to Japanese tourists.

Since 2015, Japan’s 《BRUTUS》 magazine has introduced various countries through its special feature “101 Things To Do in XX.” The recently released Taiwan edition has garnered significant attention and response. Taiwan Tourism’s official accounts on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook shared that Guohua Street was featured on a Japanese magazine cover, drawing enthusiastic reactions from netizens and adding to Taiwan’s global charm.

The magazine explores the local culture and cuisine of the “Four Tai’s”—Taipei, Taichung, Taitung, and Tainan—featuring street food, attractions, and desserts, allowing Japanese travelers passionate about Taiwan to explore these destinations fully.

The Japanese magazine’s feature has also received praise from National Taiwan University professor Li Mingtsung, who commended the magazine’s thoughtful selection for the cover. He noted that travel is not just about ticking off places, but about stepping away from daily life and immersing oneself in other cultures and worlds. From this perspective, Taiwan holds great appeal for Japanese people. He also emphasized that tourism should not be limited to advertising, but should serve as an opportunity to showcase a country’s culture.
