Hot Air Balloon Ride to Admire Taoyuan’s Scenery – The “Shihmen Hot Air Balloon Carnival” Kicks Off

Want to experience flying over Shihmen Reservoir and taking in the region’s beautiful views?“2016 Taoyuan Shihmen Hot Air Balloon Carnival”officially kicked off on the 18th, running on June 18, 19, 25, and 26. Colorful and dazzling hot air balloons will take off at the Shihmen Reservoir South Park Ecological Park. The public can register online to enjoy the fun of riding a hot air balloon and soar above Taoyuan’s Shihmen scenery.

For the first time, the Taoyuan City Government held the “2016 Taoyuan Shihmen Hot Air Balloon Carnival” at the South Park Ecological Park, specially organizing a hot air balloon ride experience that allows residents in northern Taiwan to gently float into the sky with the balloons and enjoy aerial views rarely seen from the ground. The first wave of online registrations closed on the 13th, with all 400 spots quickly snapped up by excited participants. The second round of online registration will open next Monday (6/20)—don’t miss out.

Additionally, there will be a “Night Light and Music Concert” onsite, featuring performances by artists such as Tong En and Gao Huizhen, along with a nighttime hot air balloon flame show and dazzling laser light displays. Beyond that, the “2016 Taoyuan Shihmen Hot Air Balloon Carnival” also includes many specially planned series of events.
