The most anticipated "2017 New Taipei City Children's Art Festival" for both kids and adults will take place at the New Taipei City Civic Plaza from August 4 to August 13. This year’s festival, themed "Welcome to Monster Island," will transform the civic plaza into a whimsical playground filled with monsters. Six original monsters created in New Taipei will lead everyone on an adventurous journey through Monster Island. Come embark on a fun and unique children’s art adventure together.

The six original New Taipei little monsters include: the Light Monster from Jiufen, the Music Monster who loves Gongliao, the Brush Monster from Pinglin, the Clay Monster hiding in Yingge, the Cement Monster born in Bali, and the Book Monster residing in historic sites. Through games, they will guide children through six major art experiences, including performance, music, painting, sculpture, architecture, and literature.

In addition, six major museums in New Taipei City have joined this year’s art festival, ensuring parents and children can play wherever they go. They will offer over 10 local-themed mini-games, helping children learn about the unique culture of their hometown.

The most special feature of this year’s Children's Art Festival is the new "Tech Art Experience Zone," featuring the latest AR and VR games. Games such as "Back to Jurassic" will be introduced, bringing professionally produced augmented reality (AR) experiences from a UK team. Using digital technology, realistic dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus rex, Pteranodon, and Brachiosaurus are created, combined with a 360-degree virtual world experience for an immersive thrill. Kids and adults alike can interact with dinosaurs and take photos, fulfilling their inner dinosaur dreams.
