Don’t just visit the Gongliao Sea Festival — take a stunning mountain-and-sea day trip in Northeast Taiwan

New Taipei City’s Gongliao District boasts some of the most beautiful coastal scenery in all of Taiwan, including the unique "Nanya Rock Formations" shaped by sea erosion; at the "Longdong Bay Marine Park," you can swim with marine life and enjoy both scuba diving and snorkeling; at the "Aodi Fishing Port" seafood street, sample delicious local seafood; and at "Fulong Beach," you can splash in the cool waters and play on the golden sands — a perfect place to embrace summer energy. It’s also the venue for Taiwan’s largest international beach music festival in northern Taiwan. Here's a recommended one-day itinerary for exploring the Northeast Coast.
 
Ruifang Station (starting point) -> Nanya Rock Formations -> Longdong Bay -> Aodi Fishing Port -> Fulong Beach -> Old Caoling Tunnel -> Old Caoling Cycling Loop -> Maao Fishing Village -> Cape San Diego Lighthouse

Transportation Info: Take the TRA to "Ruifang Station." After exiting, walk toward "Ruifang Police Precinct," and at the intersection of "Mingquan St." and "Mingdeng Rd. Section 3," take bus 856 (Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Golden Fulong Line) and get off at "Nanya Nanxin Temple Stop."
