Every year in late July, Taiwan experiences several meteor showers, including the "Aquarius Meteor Shower," "Southern Pisces Meteor Shower," and "Capricorn Meteor Shower." Their peak periods all fall between the 28th and 30th, and although they are not major meteor showers, there are still more than 10 meteors per hour. In addition to these three meteor showers this year, before dawn on the 29th, visitors also have the chance to see a new meteor shower caused by Comet Borisov (C/2015 D4, Borisov). Below are ten recommended stargazing spots across Taiwan. Travelers may want to seize the opportunity to stake out the best viewing positions.

1. Taipei – Yangmingshan Qingshuiyuan (擎天岗)
Qingshuiyuan in Yangmingshan is a well-known prime spot for stargazing in the Taipei area.

2. 2. New Taipei – Ruifang Buyiting
Mountainous areas facing east all offer opportunities to view meteor showers. Buyiting in Ruifang is located in the mountains, surrounded almost entirely by forest with minimal light pollution.

3. 3. Taoyuan – Lala Mountain Star Gazing Camping Site
The Lala Mountain Star Gazing Camping Area, at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, is hidden within the light-pollution-free Lala Mountain and offers excellent scenic views.

4. 4. Taichung – Wanggaoliao Park
Wanggaoliao Park is not only one of the top choices for night scenery viewing among Taichung residents, but also the best spot on the Dajia Plateau for stargazing and moon appreciation.
