New Taipei’s 7 Hidden Lotus Spots – The Largest Flower Field Covers 7 Hectares

Summer has arrived, and lotus flowers are in bloom. The New Taipei City Agriculture Bureau has compiled a list of seven hidden lotus-viewing spots across the city. Each location is within an hour’s drive from the downtown area, so locals and visitors alike can take advantage of free time to explore the refreshing beauty of lotuses in New Taipei.

According to the Agriculture Bureau, the Xiaohe Lotus area in Jinshan Qingshui is currently in full bloom. This spot features rare double-petal lotuses, whose gorgeous and intricate blooms resemble the noble elegance of peonies. Meanwhile, the lotus seeds and roots are also nearing harvest. In addition, blooming lotus fields can be found in Tunsanli in Tamsui, Shanglinli in Shuangxi, SanShu Road in Sanxia, beside the Danjin Highway in Sanchi, the Lotus Park in Ersheng Flood Diversion Channel, and the Phase III Artificial Wetland in Banqiao. The blooming period is expected to last until July. Lush green lotus leaves sway gently in the breeze, while delicate, dewy lotus flowers exude their fragrance, adding a touch of cool, refreshing beauty to the sweltering summer days.

The Agriculture Bureau notes that June is typically the peak season for lotus blossoms. This year, with June’s extremely hot weather, the best time to admire the lotuses is in the early morning when the flowers are at their most vibrant and dewdrops roll beautifully on the leaves.
