The center of Typhoon Lan is located at 10.9°N, 135.0°E (1,960 km southeast of Eluanbi), moving west-northwest at a speed of 9 km/h. The central pressure of the typhoon is 995 hPa, with maximum sustained winds near the center at 20 m/s and maximum gusts at 28 m/s. The radius of the area experiencing gale-force winds (Beaufort scale 7) is 120 km.

Due to the strengthening northeast winds, areas north of Chiayi, Keelung’s northern coast, Taitung (including Orchid Island and Green Island), as well as the coastal regions and nearby waters of Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu are prone to strong gusts of wind between levels 8 and 10. Particular attention should also be paid to sudden strong winds on land. Over the next week, areas north of Hsinchu, Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung are expected to have rainy conditions. Travelers planning to visit these areas in the near future should pay close attention to the weather.
