Best Views of Matsu’s Blue Tears — “No. 55 Youth Hostel” Officially Opens

After 10 months of preparation, No. 55 Youth Hostel, located in Jingsha Village on Nangan Island of Matsu, has officially commenced operations today. Catering primarily to backpackers, the hostel currently offers 22 beds. Moreover, it is also one of the best spots for observing the blue tears. If you're planning to chase this natural phenomenon, be sure to stay here.

No. 55 Youth Hostel is situated along the Jinren Trail and is also known as Fort Zhongcheng. It was formerly a military barracks. After being transferred from the military to the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration and subsequently renovated, it was entrusted to a local Matsu operator in 2015 and officially opened for check-in on June 25, 2016.

All room types at No. 55 Youth Hostel are shared dormitories. Aside from a double room with an unobstructed sea view, the rest feature bunk beds. Each bed is equipped with curtains for privacy, and the hostel also provides lockable personal storage lockers and free breakfast. For those wishing to rent a scooter to explore Matsu, the hostel also offers direct rental services.
