On the 5th, affected by the northeast monsoon and southern cloud systems, temperatures in the north and northeast dropped slightly. Localized brief showers occurred across Taiwan, including Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. Gusty winds also began to strengthen in coastal and open areas north of central Taiwan. The weekend weather is expected to remain largely the same, with fluctuating temperatures and unstable moisture levels. Temperatures will drop further by next Tuesday, with northern and central areas possibly falling to 10–11°C.
Air quality has deteriorated as low-pressure vortices moved northward, carrying many pollutants north. Air quality in central and southern Taiwan is poor, listed as a “red alert,” while the north and Taoyuan-Zhubei-Miaoli areas are categorized as “orange reminders.” It is advised to carry rain gear, wear easily adjustable and cold-resistant clothing when going out, and prepare masks.
