Photography has become one of the most important aspects of traveling. To capture great shots, aside from personal appearance and beautiful backgrounds, the shooting angle and technique are equally crucial. How to make both male and female subjects appear tall and slim is something many people care about. Below are five photography tips that everyone can learn to make the subjects in the photos look taller and slimmer.

1. Photo bottom close to the feet
To make the legs look longer in a photo, there should only be a small gap between the subject’s feet and the bottom of the frame, giving the person an elongated appearance. Additionally, don’t leave too much empty space above the subject—make sure they appear taller compared to the scenery and the overall frame.
2. Toes pointing toward the camera
Besides placing the feet near the bottom of the frame, having the subject’s toes point toward the camera can enhance the illusion of long legs. Combined with the right camera angle, the effect can be even more striking. Position the camera around the belly button level or shoot from a slightly elevated vantage point for optimal results.

3. Shooting at an angle
Applying the above poses and angles to the diagonal part of the photo, while shooting from a slightly upward angle, can maximize the appearance of leg length and overall height.

4. Sitting pose photography
The sitting position can also utilize the aforementioned posing techniques and angles. By extending or crossing the legs, the subject can appear to have long, slender legs and a taller stature even while seated.

5. Crossed legs, one knee bent
In addition to the elongating poses mentioned above, crossing the legs or bending one knee can also showcase long, attractive legs and create the illusion of gaining 5 to 10cm in height.
