Located in southwestern Taiwan, Tainan has an inseparable relationship with the ocean and rivers. With over 40 kilometers of coastline, the sea brings the benefits of fishing and salt production, as well as a wealth of cultural and scenic resources. The Tourism Bureau has once again invited illustrator Croter Hong Tianxian to create the "Tainan Light Water Ripple" themed map in a surreal, mutated, and full-bleed illustration style. The map is now available for free pickup.

Tainan boasts many water-friendly environments, such as irrigation ponds that conserve water resources, picturesque lakes, ecologically educational mangrove mudflats, reservoir scenic areas that serve both water storage and leisure, and charming coastlines—creating the diverse landscape of Greater Tainan.

The "Tainan Light Water Ripple" themed map issued by the Tourism Bureau invites illustrator Croter Hong Tianxian to depict a full map of Tainan’s various water-friendly attractions in his surreal, mutated, and full-bleed illustration style. It also includes descriptions of 33 water-friendly spots by travel writer Huang Yuqing, along with tips for visiting and points to note.

Some spots also offer experiences where you can take in the beauty of the waterscape, such as the recently launched Tainan Canal boat tour where you bend down and pass under bridges, allowing you to fully appreciate the cityscape along the canal. Other highlights include Yeuguang Island, Golden Coast, and Shuangchun Coastal Recreation Area where you can enjoy the sunset on the waves, taking a fishing raft to visit Qiɡu o_ Lake and even an uninhabited island, admiring stunning sunsets, and exploring the lush green tunnel of the Sicao Mangrove Forest.

In addition, you can experience the Taijiang Sicao Lake eco-tour, ride a palace-like painted pleasure boat to feel the charm of Jian Shan Pi Reservoir—known as “Little Jiangnan”—as well as solar-powered boats in the Wushantou and Hutoupi Reservoir scenic areas and a variety of recreational facilities. There are also popular canoeing activities held annually at Deyuanpi and Hulu Pi, which are especially loved by families.
