The cherry blossom tunnel resembles a dreamy fairyland — a stunning hotspot for valley cherry blossom viewing

Located in Nantou, the National Taiwan University Experimental Forest is a popular flower-viewing destination, especially in spring when the vibrant blossoms attract many visitors. The 2018 Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival at the NTU Experimental Forest has kicked off, with over 300 pink Kawazu cherry trees in full bloom in the Phoenix Nature Education Area. Strolling along the beautiful cherry blossom tunnel feels like visiting a romantic overseas attraction.

Covering nearly 20 hectares, the Phoenix Nature Education Area is planted with hundreds of tea plants and Kawazu cherry trees. When cherry blossom season arrives, the pink floral sea complements the camellias, creating a breathtaking view. The area’s 333-step stone stairway is lined with cherry blossom trees on both sides, forming a charming tunnel that draws many visitors for blossom viewing and photography.

In addition to cherry blossom viewing at the NTU Experimental Forest, the annual “Feast of Spring” event held around March is also one of the region’s major flower festivals. This year’s event takes place from March 16 to April 1. The park trail spans approximately 1.6 kilometers, and during the event, guided talks are offered every 10 to 20 minutes between 8:50 AM and 3:20 PM at the “Temperate Flower Zone” and the “Vegetable Garden Treasure Hunt.”
