Shaking intensity: Magnitude 5 in Taroko, Hualien; magnitude 4 in Nanao, Yilan; magnitude 2 in Nantou and Taichung; magnitude 1 in Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, and Yunlin. Southern Taiwan experienced little to no shaking.

The Central Weather Bureau issued a dense fog advisory for weather conditions. From March 3 to 4, localized fog or low clouds affecting visibility are likely in western Taiwan, as well as in Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu. At 11 PM on March 3, dense fog occurred in Kinmen and Matsu, with visibility below 200 meters. Those in these areas should exercise extra caution. Air quality in western Taiwan is poor—try to limit outdoor activities or wear a mask when going out.
