Walls lined with moso bamboo complement fabric drapes hanging from the ceiling, inscribed with calligraphy, adding a literary touch to the space.

The exterior of THE GAYA HOTEL retains the distinctive hole-punched wall design from its former life as a tax office, and has been redesigned by renowned architect Yeh Yu-ching. The name “GAYA” originates from the language of Taiwan’s indigenous peoples, meaning to follow the faith of ancestral spirits, respect nature, and uphold the spirit needed to sustain life.
