What used to be a stinky drain is now comparable to Korea’s Cheonggyecheon River. The improvement project has divided Zhonggang Drainage Channel into a “water dance experience zone,” “static aquatic plant display area,” “water activity zone,” and “ecological display area.” Visitors can enjoy beautiful water dance shows, view specially cultivated aquatic plants, explore ecological zones for kids’ learning, and appreciate the beautified waterway.

Additionally, the walls along the channel feature creative and fun murals, perfect for photos and check-ins. The public art “Return” project along Zhonggang Drainage Channel involves many community residents and even international artists in the design of artworks, offering great diversity.

Among them, the permanent installation artwork created by Japanese artist Keiichi Tahara uses special glass materials. Its design changes color depending on the viewing angle, adding a beautiful new highlight to Zhonggang Drainage Channel.
