Tainan’s Trendy “Meow Paw Cakes” – Egg Waffles That Satisfy Cat Lovers’ Love for Paws!

Cat lovers, this one’s for you. A shop in Tainan has transformed egg waffles into adorable cat-paw-shaped “Meow Paw Cakes,” available in colors like pink, black, and caramel, and even with fillings inside. Though the Meow Paw Cakes are irresistibly cute, they keep the classic affordability and charm of egg waffles, quickly becoming a popular treat in Tainan.

Keji Bar Fresh Milk Crispy Egg Waffles is a small street stall often spotted near Anping Elementary School in Tainan or near Lin Mo Niang Park. The peach-pink stall specializes in egg waffles that bring back childhood memories, using different baking molds to turn them into special shapes — among which the newly launched “Meow Paw Cakes” in mid-June are the most popular, selling around 300 pieces a day.

Meow Paw Cakes resemble the paw pads (or footpads) of cats — an ultra-cute part that’s hard for any cat lover to resist. In addition to the unfilled original (caramel), strawberry (pink), and chocolate (black) versions, Keji Bar also offers filled Meow Paw Cakes with fillings like meat floss, ham & cheese, Choco Oreo, cheese & golden egg, grape & cranberry, custard cream, chocolate cream, and brown sugar QQ malt balls. The owner said they sometimes also launch limited-edition flavors like tuna corn or cheese cream.

Meow Paw Cakes are also quite affordable — small packs of 5 unfilled pieces for NT$35, large packs of 8 for NT$50; filled packs come with 3 pieces for NT$35. Keji Bar says they will occasionally add new egg waffle flavors to offer more choices, and besides Meow Paws, there are also cartoon character designs that kids love.
