The 2018 Taoyuan Land Art Festival took place from September 14 to 30 in the Yangmei Fugang, Zhongli Old Street Creek, and Qingtangyuan areas. Over its 17-day run, the festival was themed “Old Town, New Art, 'Water-young' Taoyuan,” featuring 50 artworks, 33 thematic events, 2 international exchange street parades, and 14 water theater performances. A total of 10 limited-edition land art mini-trips were planned, comprising 67 tour groups with approximately 1,937 available spots.

BIKE FUN 2018 Fugang Land Art Festival Green Travel
Featuring an innovative Roaming Walking & Bike Fun multi-format itinerary, this youth-led guided tour by YouBike introduces participants to distinctive local green travel experiences. The trip showcases land art festival exhibits, and offers tastings of Hakka cuisine, Fugang landscapes, and cultural charm, highlighting youthful energy while energizing development in the Fugang area.
Railway Totoro Secret Realm Journey
Limited group departures include the Yamagata Leisure Farm’s “Yangmei Bald Cypress Secret Realm,” a must-visit for train enthusiasts — the “Train Hospital,” the Asian Plantation Organic Farm’s “Complete Farm,” and the “Fugang Railway Art Zone.”
Thousand-Layer Secret Realm, Surprising Lotus Delights
Railway culture and the white melaleuca green avenues connect two years of landscapes; enjoy lotus fields and straw-weaving crafts, plus experience Taiwan’s largest sunflower sea.

Visit Zhenxing Li in Pingzhen District, rich in cultural and historical resources. Through community interactions at various stops on the mini-trip, this journey will leave a deep impression.

Century-Old Stone Weirs Tour — A Scenic Ramble
Standing resilient within Xiniu’s intertidal zone, the century-old stone weir landscape combines with the 2018 Taoyuan Land Art Festival. Explore the Fugang Railway Art Zone, centered around Fugang Station, and connecting to Fugang Sports Park, Bogang Park, and Minsheng Pond. Through railway art, Fugang takes on a distinctive new character.
Mountain-and-Sea Landscape Tour
Along the Xinwu coastline, beyond its rich ecology, you’ll find unique geological treasures like #iron sand. A walk along the Baojia Ancient Trail feels like stepping into a time tunnel, offering a journey through time to admire the beauty of the [Pack-Carrying Ancient Trail].

Guided by Artisans. The Land Art Festival’s Fugang Art Route
Taoyuan’s natural landscapes are diverse — from ponds, irrigation channels, and coastlines — while its human landscapes, shaped by coexisting ethnic groups, have preserved a wealth of cultural memories and heritage. With three core themes — Local Awakening, Community Momentum, and Artistic Anchoring — and four key values — Community Participation, Local Character, Environmental Sustainability, and Circular Economy — the Taoyuan Land Art Festival establishes a local art event brand.
Guided by Artisans. The Land Art Festival’s Zhongli Beauty Hunt
The Village Art & Culture Action (Old Street Creek – Gong 13 Park) collects recycled materials, matching artists with residents to co-create artworks. Linking along the Old Street Creek, 10 pieces were created, while the tour also explores Zhongli’s alleys and Japanese-style dormitory complexes, reflecting on sustainable urban development through historical textures.
