Taiwan’s only bookstore with an ocean view—Eslite Bookstore—and the second Apeyama Café t2 are both here!

Positioned as a “coastal culture hub,” Eslite Life Taichung Mitsui Store is a new outlet rich in harbor character. In addition to its distinctive 15 “container bookshelves,” it also features 25-meter-wide floor-to-ceiling windows offering sweeping ocean views. The store boasts the most comprehensive selection of marine-themed books among all Eslite locations in Taiwan, and its unique display of temple culture from coastal cities is another highlight.

Additionally, Apeyama Café t2, a super-popular Tokyo brand introduced exclusively by Eslite Life, has been drawing crowds since its launch in Taiwan in September. Its first Taichung branch has opened next to a 60-meter ocean-view Ferris wheel, with a trial run starting on December 8.

The new complex store replicates the design style of Apeyama Café’s Musashi-Kosugi branch in Kanagawa, Japan. With a resident Japanese barista onsite, it serves authentic hand-drip coffee and traditional Japanese pancakes. It also collaborates with Eslite Life’s Cultural & Creative Platform Expo to showcase over 60 design brands from Taiwan and Japan, offering visitors an experience rich in Japanese coffee culture and creativity.

Eslite Life Taichung Mitsui Store is located next to the seaside Ferris wheel in the newly opened MITSUI OUTLET PARK Taichung Harbor. As Taiwan’s first Eslite Bookstore with ocean views, it echoes the abundant marine resources of western Taiwan by creating a “specialty store that collects the ocean.” It features the most extensive collection of marine-themed books, children’s ocean picture books, and a range of ocean-inspired stationery across all Eslite stores in Taiwan. In response to the unique temple culture of coastal cities, the store has also added a themed shelf titled “Welcome to Your Sanctuary,” curated by bookstore staff. This section recommends a series of books on topics such as “temple architecture,” “beautiful youth,” “handcrafted creativity,” and “top workplace mindset,” offering readers guidance for both the mind and spirit.
