Recommendations for family-friendly campgrounds. Let me start by sharing what I consider to be the ideal conditions for a family campground:
1. Clean campsite with ample bathroom and shower facilities.
2. No overbooking, no tents touching each other, and enough space to move around after setting up.
3. The campground provides play facilities for children.
4. Rich in local ecology, or the campground host offers nature guided tours.
5. Not located too deep in the mountains, with accessible and not overly remote roads.
6. Friendly and responsible campground hosts. (Very important!)
If a campground meets the above criteria, it’s perfect for a family camping trip together.

No need to travel abroad—you can enjoy without long flights, relax on the soft grass, breathe fresh air, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, and experience quality time with your kids. Every visit becomes more memorable.

It has a super five-star exclusive kids’ play area (with water pool, sand pit, rock climbing, swings, slides, chalkboard, etc.), ensuring the little ones won’t want to leave the tent. The clean and tidy campground makes camping easy and convenient.

The site provides fridges, water dispensers, hairdryers, tables, and chairs. There’s also tent equipment for rent and colorful wooden cabins. The cool pavilions are great—perfect for beginners or families.

The **Taiwan fir forest camping area** stays cool even when it’s hot—no worries about the heat stopping you from camping. The grounds are well-maintained and not overbooked. The bathrooms are bright, modern, and numerous with strong water pressure and stable temperatures.

The friendly campground host is on-site all day taking care of campers. There are many nearby attractions like the Glutinous Rice Bridge and Huisan Forest. Just a 10-minute drive to Hsinyi Township for supplies or meals. At just $800 per tent, it’s great value.

Spacious, soft lawns, a campground rich in ecology, a clean and beautiful environment, a thoughtful and responsible host, no overbooking, and a focus on protecting the natural surroundings. In my opinion, it’s the best campground.

Just think—what’s the original purpose of camping? To lie on a big rock, enjoying the warm, gentle sunlight. Really, really, really wonderful. That’s what makes camping so appealing—it’s just this simple way of living.

A campground with endless pros, meeting all campers’ needs. The host family is super friendly, doesn’t overbook, keeps activity space free, and the bathrooms are spotless. Cleaning is done multiple times daily. There are plenty of bathrooms (14 in total for tents 37–39), so no queue for showers. The site also has a reading area, slides, and a sandbox where kids have a blast.

Xinshe Flower Sea is right at the foot of the mountain. When in season, the colorful blooms create a breathtaking sight. There’s a walking trail next to the campground for hiking. Nearby is Dakeng Hot Spring—perfect for warming up in winter. Meals, afternoon tea, late-night snacks, and even a swing service can be delivered—saving cooking time and prep. Amazingly, there are no pesky midges, so no worry about kids getting bitten. Only downside: super hard to book.

Found another top-quality campground—you can fish, go boating, enjoy the sandbox and swings, and play in the stream. There’s an ecological pond, basketball court, mini-golf area, homestays, lawn area, and a casuarina forest zone. You can even romantically pitch a tent by the lake.

Entry from 8am, flexible checkout the next day (except public holidays). Five-star bathrooms with separate wet and dry areas, and a friendly owner. Come see if this campground is worth a visit.

An ultra-low-profile campground with a pretty garden view and thick green turf. You can fish, go boating, and enjoy the sandbox. Fun for both adults and kids.

Book the whole site for a high-quality camping experience—no worries about running into difficult fellow campers. Originally a private guesthouse, Mr. Lee’s hidden gem is very hard to book. You’ll need to check monthly and be persistent to secure a spot. Patience and determination are key.

Shellfish collecting, campfire parties, and stream fishing are all free.
A paradise for kids—two days and one night will never be boring. The site is clean and pretty, with clean bathrooms. The owners and their daughter are super friendly. Highly recommended.

Features a cold spring splash pool, slides, sand pits, and climbing play equipment—kids won’t want to leave their tents. Beautiful, thick turf feels comfy underfoot, plus there's plenty of space for activities, clean bathrooms, and stable water temperature.

The nearby Nenggao Waterfall is amazing, full of negative ions and fresh air. Not a high altitude—hot during the day in summer but cool at night.

Note: Midges are present in the camp area. Take proper anti-mosquito measures to avoid coming home covered in bites.

Highly recommended summer camping spot. The campground has waterfalls, streams, splash pools, slides, sand pits, and more. Kids will go wild. Remember to bring extra clothes or swimsuits.

Beautiful, flat lawns (Areas B, C, and D), with each tent site generously offering a 5×8-meter large camping spot—no overbooking, plenty of clean and fragrant bathrooms.

Precautions:
1. There are small black flies in the campsite—be sure to take proper anti-mosquito measures.
2. The altitude isn't high, and it gets hot in summer, so bring a good sunshade tarpaulin.
3. The campsite has a waterfall and a splash pool—please keep an eye on children’s safety.

Just a 15-minute drive from the highway interchange, this super-sized grassy campsite features five-star bathrooms and well-equipped camping facilities, making it perfect for first-time campers and family outings.

It has a three-story slide, a giant pinball machine, and a large five-in-a-row chessboard—plentiful play facilities that are sure to keep kids entertained.

No need to trek over mountains—enjoy the beautiful night view of Greater Taichung. The park includes a homestay for non-camping friends and family, and the restaurant offers meals, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing camping life without cooking.

There are many nearby attractions such as the Fengyuan Miaodong Night Market, Houfeng Bicycle Trail, and Lihpao Land. Plan a fun-filled camping trip here.
