Taiwan’s largest 3D landscape painting village is super fun — make a side trip to the high-heel church

Situated in Haomeili, Budai Township, Chiayi, and co-created by the South Cloud-Tainan Management Office, artists, and local residents, ordinary community paths have been adorned with imaginative and fun 3D paintings, creating Taiwan’s only 3D stereoscopic painted fishing village that has gradually become a popular spot on Instagram.

Paired with the Haomeili 3D Ocean World Stroll Map from the South Cloud-Tainan Management Office, which details the marked 3D painting spots, each artwork features several interactive photo scenes — use your creativity to capture exclusive memories.

There are now over twenty large-scale 3D paintings in Haomeili, including Taiwan’s largest 3D landscape painting, “Sperm Whale vs. Squid King.” Most of the village’s artworks feature ocean-themed paintings, also known as Haomeili 3D Ocean World Outdoor Art Museum or Budai Ocean 3D Painting Village.

Budai is not far from Tainan — it takes about 10–20 minutes by car from Haomeili 3D Painted Village to Beimen Crystal Church in Tainan. You can also take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle—Yanxiang Coastal Line, which stops along the way at Chiayi HSR Station, National Palace Museum Southern Branch, Dongshi Fisherman’s Wharf, High-Heel Church, Haomeili 3D Painting Village, and Beimen Visitor Center.
